Analyst / Associate, Special Intelligence Team

As part of the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) function, this role reports to the Team Lead, Special Intelligence (SI) Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting AML investigations and ensuring compliance with the Bank's policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct AML investigations arising from alerts and escalations received and completed within stipulated timelines. Cases may originate from transaction monitoring alerts, production orders, internal referrals, or external intelligence.
  • Liaise with FCC, Business Units, and other relevant stakeholders by raising Requests for Information (RFIs) to support investigations and case reviews.
  • Review and verify customer information and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and Bank requirements.
  • Manage investigation caseloads effectively while maintaining required quality standards and meeting service level agreement (SLA) targets.
  • Prepare and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and other ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial crime compliance, AML investigations, or KYC reviews within the banking industry.
  • Experience reviewing corporate and/or financial institution customers is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively across multiple functions and levels of seniority.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyse and manage large datasets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Good knowledge of MAS Notice 626, customer due diligence requirements, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and trade-based money laundering typologies.
  • Familiarity with screening and intelligence platforms such as Dow Jones Factiva and World-Check.
  • ICA or ACAMS certification is an advantage.
