Governance & Process Map end‐to‐end processes across product, ops, treasury, compliance & risk; identify gaps/redundancies/risks; drive standardization & automation; explore AI for process diagnosis. Build a “business‐compliance‐control” three‐lines model for cross‐border payments; perform pre‐launch control reviews for new products – balance speed and safety. Establish KRI monitoring for treasury, AML, data security & merchant onboarding; use AI/big data for dynamic risk sensing and anomaly detection.
Execution & Partnership Align internal control with HQ and local regulations; ensure consistent compliance across regions. Lead or support audit issue remediation – root‐cause, fix through process or tech (including AI tools), and track to closure. Act as business advisor; upskill ops/BD/product teams via training and toolkits to strengthen self‐risk management.
AI & Digitalisation Embed control requirements into systems (not just policies) – collaborate with tech/product to embed controls into transaction monitoring, limit management, and automated approvals; build a digital control system; pilot AI in smart auditing and continuous monitoring.
Requirements
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Audit, Law, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8–15 years of work experience, with at least 5 years in risk advisory/internal control auditing at a Big 4 firm, or in internal control/risk/compliance roles within international payment institutions, banks, large internet companies, or fintech firms.
- Preferred (plus) : Experience in cross‐border payments, cross‐border finance, or e‐commerce platforms, with a solid understanding of cross‐border fund flow regulations.
Core Competencies Business acumen – Ability to deconstruct business models, quickly grasp cross‐border payment product logic (e.g., FX rates, fund flow, settlement cycles), and identify root‐cause issues through on‐the‐ground engagement. Global perspective – Familiarity with overseas financial environments and regulatory frameworks is a plus. Fluent English as a working language, with strong cross‐border communication and report‐writing skills. Project management & drive – Strong cross‐functional coordination and stakeholder management capabilities. Data analytics – Basic SQL or Python skills are a plus. Ability to leverage data tools (including AI) for risk insights, moving beyond sample‐based testing. Growth mindset – Adaptable in fast‐paced, high‐intensity environments, with a proactive and exploratory attitude towards uncertainty. Resilience – Willing to travel frequently overseas and work effectively in multicultural settings.
