The Department of Student Development (SD) provides all SP students with a positive Polytechnic experience through meaningful out-of-classroom activities that support holistic student development.
As an Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager, the appointee will initiate and lead programmes within the Service-Learning portfolio in the Department of Student Development, with the aim of developing students' social responsibility, character, leadership and community engagement through meaningful service-learning experiences. He/she will be supporting the strategic directives for Service-Learning with involvement in programme planning, stakeholder engagement, communications and conducting relevant data analysis for tracking and continuous improvement. The role will also include mentoring/guiding students in Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) club matters. He/she may be required to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to organise SP-wide events that enhance campus vibrancy and participate in departmental committees.
[What you will be working on]
a) Design and lead service-learning and sustainability programmes and activities, ensuring objectives are achieved:
- Coordinate programme execution, logistics and stakeholder engagement
- Conduct data tracking, analysis and reporting for continuous improvement
- Manage programme administration, budgets and vendors (where applicable)
- Support communications and outreach for programmes and initiatives
b) Develop and maintain partnerships with diverse stakeholders to lead meaningful service-learning and sustainability programmes and opportunities.
c) Mentor and guide students in CCA clubs, including leadership development and administrative support.
d) Support departmental administrative processes and perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.
[What we are looking for]
- Passion for student/youth development.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in service-learning, youth development, education or related fields.
- Strong organisational, administrative and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Willing to work beyond office hours when required.
Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
