About the Role
As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will support the finance team in managing the organization's financial health. You will play a key role in budgeting, financial reporting, audits, tax, and risk mitigation while ensuring strict compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in compliance with MPERS, MFRS, or IFRS.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts, perform variance analysis, and conduct risk scenario planning to provide financial insights.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations to ensure accurate records.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensure adherence to tax regulations through the review of computations and submissions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and other departments to gather data and ensure timely reporting.
- Treasury & Risk: Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and implement strategies to minimize risks in financial processes.
- Process Improvement: Enhance internal control systems and propose improvements for financial policies.
- Ad Hoc Support: Perform additional assignments as required by the Finance Manager or senior management.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are a plus.
- Experience: At least 6 years of experience in finance and accounting with a strong background in compliance.
- Leadership: Proven experience in managing or leading a small finance team.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with accounting software.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax compliance.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take initiative and meet tight deadlines.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
- Demonstrates the ability and mindset to leverage AI tools to improve work efficiency, productivity, and quality, while continuously exploring new ways to enhance business impact.
