Assistant Manager (Procurement)
FairPrice Group
Job description
Position Purpose
The Assistant Manager (B2C Concepts) is a strategic operational anchor responsible for managing direct procurement, category sourcing (food ingredients, specialty raw materials), and supply chain resilience across the group’s multi-concept retail brand portfolio.
The role bridges new brand incubation with day-to-day store execution. The candidate will drive Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) forecast alignment, manage specialized overseas cold-chain container imports, safeguard store-level product availability, and optimize cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) across rapid brand expansions.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Concept B2C Sourcing & Brand Rollout Support
- Partner with culinary development, marketing, and brand operations teams to translate menu innovations and new concept rollouts into robust, scalable supply chain frameworks.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing for brand-specific direct materials, specialty sauces, and premium imported SKUs.
- Supply & Demand Planning (S&OP)
- Align store-level sales forecasts, seasonal marketing promotions, and new outlet opening schedules with procurement lead times to maintain optimal stock availability.
- Oversee international freight, customs clearance, and temperature-controlled cold-chain shipping logistics for specialized imported ingredients.
- Track container ETAs daily and proactively manage shipping lane disruptions to ensure zero interruption to store operations.
- Commercial Negotiation & COGS Optimization
- Negotiate volume-based pricing, rebate structures, payment terms, and supply SLAs with local and overseas vendors to defend store food margins and control COGS.
- Conduct continuous yield analyses, benchmark ingredient costs, and identify alternative pre-vetted sourcing options to maintain price stability during inflationary periods.
- Store-Level Supplier Performance & Operational Gatekeeping
- Monitor operational vendor KPIs, specifically tracking On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance and Non-Conformance Report (NCR) quality rates.
- Serve as the primary procurement gatekeeper for store managers and central kitchens, rapidly resolving delivery delays, ingredient quality discrepancies, or vendor disputes.
