Job description
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of your position will be:
Quality Compliance & Quality Control
· Develop Quality Control Plan (QCP) for new product.
· Assist in QA/QC activities to ensure all quality systems and work instructions are current and properly executed.
· Support the Quality Control section to ensure methods of quality testing align with current standards.
· Develop and implement procedures to ensure effective utilization of QC resources.
· Assist in conducting Internal Quality Audits and recommend follow-up actions to management.
· Assist in implementing the quality assurance inspection and testing procedures on new and existing products to ensure the products are compliant with standards.
· Assist with 3rd party audit activities for compliance as per external certification body requirements.
Technical Support & Product Evaluation
· Provide technical support to Sales, Production, and Technical teams on the product specifications and applications.
· Assess suppliers’ products or OEM products to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
· Recommend the release of finished products with minor, non-performance-affecting defects based on specifications and intended applications.
· Perform root cause analysis for product failure and attend to customer issues.
· Liaise with MV(Medium Voltage Cable) suppliers to ensure technical specifications comply with customer requirements.
Overseas Assignment
· Involved in travelling for quality inspections and attending product seminars.
· Provide Quality Assurance and Product Development support to Tai Sin’s overseas subsidiaries.
Quality Product & Quality Improvement
· Design new cables per customer requirements, develop new cable range as per marketing requirements, specifications and new products.
· Update existing cable designs.
· Explore and formulate new materials (e.g., PVC, XLPE, LSZH) for enhanced properties and applications.
· Update specifications and testing methodologies for current and new raw materials.
· Improve current production process techniques and introduce new process control techniques to enhance quality assurance.
· Develop and introduce new measurement/testingmethodology or equipment to improve the repeatability, accuracy, and reliability of quality testing
· Conduct SWOT analysis of QA/QC practices and identify improvement areas.
Requirements:
· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline, with expertise in Electrical Power Systems, Automation, Electrical Insulation, or Cable Engineering.
· Must possess relevant working experience in the wire and cable industry, with strong practical knowledge in cable design, product development and cable manufacturing.
· Strong technical knowledge of LV and MV power cable design and construction, including conductors, insulation, screening, armouring, sheathing and associated cable materials.
· Good working knowledge of applicable cable standards and specifications, including IEC, BS, EN, SS, AS/NZS and relevant customer or project requirements.
· Able to perform and review cable design calculations, material selection, technical specifications, testing requirements and product performance, and support new product development or design improvement activities.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to support QA/QC, Production and Sales, conduct root cause analysis, prepare technical documentation, work independently, and travel when required.
