Description of position:

We are seeking an Associate to join our Banking & Finance / Debt Capital Markets practice.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of transactions across Malaysia and the ASEAN region, including syndicated and bilateral financings, cross-border financing transactions, and debt capital markets offerings.

As an Associate, you will work closely with the partners and senior lawyers in managing transaction workstreams, preparing and reviewing transaction documents, conducting research, assisting with due diligence, and coordinating with clients and external stakeholders.

This role is ideal for candidates who are looking to strengthen their technical foundations, deepen their drafting skills, and gain hands-on experience in complex, high-impact transactions within a collaborative environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent; admitted to the Malaysian Bar.
• 2–4 years PQE in Banking & Finance, Debt Capital Markets or related practices.
• Strong drafting skills with good attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
• Foundational knowledge of capital markets processes, financing structures, and regulatory frameworks (or strong willingness to develop these skills).
• Ability to manage tasks and deadlines independently while seeking supervision where appropriate.
• Strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and the ability to perform well under time-sensitive conditions.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
