Job Description
- Provide oversight of the Account Opening function to ensure compliance with AML/CFT, sanctions, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide governance oversight, advisory support, and policy guidance on customer onboarding, due diligence requirements, and regulatory interpretation matters.
- Review and challenge risk assessments relating to customer profiles, beneficial ownership, source of wealth, source of funds, and other financial crime risk indicators.
- Act as the key escalation point for high-risk, complex, and exceptional customer onboarding cases.
- Partner with multiple key stakeholders to enhance onboarding controls, resolve issues, and mitigate financial crime risks.
- Escalate material issues, exceptions, and potential financial crime concerns for further review and decision-making.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and well-supported documentation of review outcomes, risk assessments, and rationale.
- Drive the implementation and enhancement of AML/KYC policies, procedures, controls, governance frameworks, and regulatory initiatives.
- Perform thematic reviews, quality assurance assessments, control testing, gap analysis, remediation exercises, and special reviews to strengthen risk management practices.
- Prepare management information, dashboards, reports, training materials, and presentations while supporting strategic projects, process improvements, operating model enhancements, and other initiatives to improve operational effectiveness.
- Undertake ad hoc assignments, projects, and initiatives as assigned in support of business, regulatory, risk management, and governance objectives.
