BO 11kV Chargeman cum Utility & Facility Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

BO Chargeman

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and safety of the plant’s 11kV and low-voltage (LV) electrical distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electrical facilities.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment, to ensure reliable and uninterrupted plant operations.
• Lead and support electrical CAPEX and improvement projects, including project planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and contractor management.
• Review electrical drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), technical specifications, and project scopes to ensure compliance with company requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
• Perform and/or review electrical engineering calculations, including cable sizing, transformer sizing, load calculations, protection device selection, and electrical system capacity assessments.
• Ensure full compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations and applicable electrical safety standards.
• Maintain a valid BO Chargeman certification and ensure all relevant requirements are fulfilled for the registration of the Chargeman with EDSB.

Utility / Facility Engineer

• Plan, coordinate, and manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities for facility infrastructure, utilities, and building services.
• Lead, supervise, and manage the facility maintenance team and technicians to ensure effective and timely execution of maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to address and resolve facility maintenance requests efficiently.
• Lead and manage facility-related projects covering mechanical, electrical, civil, and building services.
• Prepare monthly building management and facility maintenance reports, including performance analysis and recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
• Develop project scopes, technical specifications, budgets, and schedules, and monitor project progress to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
• Ensure all facility operations and maintenance activities comply with HSE, ISO requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
• Monitor maintenance performance, operational costs, equipment reliability, and overall facility efficiency while continuously improving maintenance practices.

Requirements

• Possess a valid BO Chargeman (11kV) certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven experience in electrical project execution, including installation, testing, commissioning, and contractor management.
• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and reviewing Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and electrical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering calculations, including cable sizing, transformer sizing, load calculations, electrical system capacity, and protection coordination.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, project management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of electrical safety requirements, statutory regulations, and industry best practices.
