What will you do?

As a Business Planning Manager, you are expected to drive sustainable, profitable growth by establishing robust forecasting processes and ensuring strategic alignment across all commercial channels. You are expected to manage the following:

  • Lead the Bottom-Up (BU) Cycle: Manage the end-to-end monthly commercial planning process, translating brand and channel strategies into unit and value forecasts.
  • Stock-in-Trade (SIT) Management: Closely monitor distributor and retailer inventory levels. Define SIT assumptions and buy-in profiles to avoid overstocking or out-of-stock situations.
  • Launch Pipe Sizing: Partner with Marketing and Category teams to size initial sell-in pipelines for New Product Launches (NPL) across a rolling 3-to-12-month horizon.
  • S&OP Collaboration: Coordinate with Supply Chain to align the commercial demand forecast with physical supply capabilities, optimizing service levels (Fill Rates).
  • Minoration Management: Oversee and control trade discounts, rebates, and commercial investments (shopper/retailer spend).
  • ROI Analysis: Evaluate the efficiency of promotional mechanics and trade spend, shifting budgets toward high-return activities.
  • Pricing Strategy Support: Assist Revenue Growth Management (RGM) in pricing reviews and evaluating the impact of promotional pricing on gross-to-net sales.
  • Risks & Opportunities (R&O): Lead weekly and monthly gap analyses. Identify commercial risks and develop actionable recovery plans alongside Key Account Managers (KAMs).
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Establish and track KPIs related to forecast accuracy, promotional effectiveness, and customer profitability.
  • Executive Presentation: Prepare and deliver clear, consolidated business planning performance updates to the CPD Management Committee (ManCom).

Who are we looking for?

  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in Business Planning, Commercial Finance, Trade Marketing, or Revenue Growth Management (RGM).
  • Proven experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector is highly preferred.
  • Specific familiarity with the Malaysian retail landscape
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Mastery of complex financial modeling, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
  • System Literacy: Experience with ERP systems (SAP) and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Salesforce) is highly advantageous.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of P&L structures, gross-to-net calculations, and ROI metrics.
