Cable Jointer (Power Grid)

What You’ll Do:

1. Install high voltage, low voltage and auxiliary cable (pilot) joints including cable terminations
2. Cable spiking, cutting, sealing and connecting generator power and auxiliary cables
3. Carry out site competency assessments of contract cable jointers
4. Assist in investigation of high voltage cable joint failures
5. Assist in the trial of new cable jointing materials and jointing tools
6. Carry out cable jointing and termination for fault/damage repair work
7. Carry out repair of faulty auxiliary cables (pilot cable)
8. Attach to experienced cable jointer’s work sites as part of skill, knowledge and career advancement

What You’ll Need:

1. NITEC / Higher NITEC in any Engineering field
2. Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in related fields
3. Entry level candidates are welcome to apply (On job training will be provided)
4. Comfortable working outdoors and in trenches, including exposure to heat, rain, confined spaces, and uneven ground.
5. Able to perform strength‐intensive tasks such as lifting, pulling cables, and working in outdoor environments.
