ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT
- Provide basic nursing care that aligns with the vision, mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the nursing services and the hospital.
- Notify the nursing leaders of any situations that impact the quality of care.
- Obtain ward report and assignment at the beginning of each shift and perform additional tasks as assigned by the Unit Manager or Senior Registered Nurse.
- Daily routine:
· Conducts regular nursing rounds to assess patients’ needs and communicate with them and their families.
· Prepares and tidies beds, reclining chairs before arrival of patient’s and linens, and as needed.
· Provides drinks for patients and collects cups and meal trays after use.
· Keeps the patients feeling comfortable and cheerful by giving them blankets if they are cold, positioning them.
· Keeps the unit area, store, fridge and its facilities clean and tidy.
· Disinfects beds and equipment, dialysis machines, reclining chairs, and cardiac tables after use.
· Answer phone calls and relay messages.
· Attendants to patients call the bell promptly.
· Escort and wheel patients back to their cars after dialysis.
· Dispatches specimens to the laboratory and collects results.
- Assists the trained staff in various aspects:
· Carried out of nursing care, such as patient comfort, safety, nutrition, hygiene, admission, transfer and discharge,
· Cleans and disinfects the trolley and instruments after use and stores them properly.
· Records the daily charges for the items used in the unit and updates the patients’ charges accordingly.
· Lifts, turns, and positions patients safely and comfortably using the correct body mechanics.
- Attend meetings held by the service.
