Job Description
Responsible for safe operation, maintenance and switching of 33kV electrical systems across solar PV plants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform 11kV/33kV switching, isolation, earthing and LOTO activities.
- Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of 33kV substations, RMU, switchgear, transformers and related equipment.
- Maintain plant inspection records and logbooks.
- Lead emergency response for solar farm electrical breakdowns, including site attendance outside normal working hours when required.
- Support and involve in troubleshooting, fault investigation and system restoration activities.
- Coordinate with engineers, testers, Competent Engineers, subcontractors, clients, and authorities during maintenance and breakdown works.
- Supervise electrical works and ensure safe working practices.
- Ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements, Electricity Supply Act & Regulations, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements, and company safety procedures.
- Support the IF team in 33kV maintenance, testing and improvement activities.
Requirements
- Valid Chargeman B0 or B1 33kV competency certificate.
- Experience in operations and maintenance of 11kV/33kV electrical systems.
- Experience in MV switching and electrical safety procedures.
- Familiar with RMU, switchgear, transformers operations and protection systems.
- Able to read Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and electrical drawings.
- Experience in solar farms, substations or power plants is an advantage.
- Possess a valid driving license.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and authorities.
- Able to lead and coordinate the team during emergency breakdowns and 33kV operations.
- Demonstrates good leadership, ownership and decision-making skills.
- Willing to travel and attend solar farm breakdowns outside normal working hours when required.
- Strong interest in long-term career development in solar farm and 33kV operations.
