Cook

As a Cook, you play an important role in supporting the health and well-being of our children by preparing safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals each day. You will be responsible for daily meal preparation, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring meals are prepared in accordance with established menus, dietary requirements, and food safety guidelines. Through your care and attention, you help create a positive mealtime experience for every child.

Job Description

As a Cook, you will be:-

1. Preparing meals

a) Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks for children everyday

b) Lunch for teachers and staff everyday

2. Maintaining kitchen cleanliness

and hygiene at all times

a) Clean and maintain kitchen and kitchen equipment

b) Wash children’s utensils after breakfast and lunch everyday

3. Managing cooking

ingredients

a) Order weekly cooking ingredients.

b) Check purchased groceries expiry and usefulness.

c) Maintain and report marketing budget to centre principal.

4. Carrying out the Cleaner’s

duties when Cleaner is on medical or annual leave

Job

Requirement

· Prior experience in cooking or food preparation, preferably in a preschool or childcare environment.

· Relevant certification i.e. Food and Hygiene Certificate

· Knowledge of food hygiene, safety standards and proper food handling practices.

· Able to prepare nutritious meals according to planned menus and children’s dietary requirements.

· Responsible and organised in managing groceries, kitchen supplies, stock and basic records.

· Physically fit, dependable and willing to support general cleaning duties when required.
