The Manager, Consolidation & Reporting is responsible for overseeing the Group's financial consolidation and reporting functions, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial information in compliance with applicable Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Bursa Malaysia requirements, statutory requirements and the Group's accounting policies and reporting guidelines.
The role provides financial reporting support and technical accounting guidance to the Group and its subsidiaries, while ensuring the integrity, consistency and quality of financial information reported to Senior Management, the Audit Committee, the Board of Directors and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Group Consolidation & Financial Reporting: Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end Group consolidation processes, reviewing submissions from business units and ensuring accurate accounting for intercompany balances, investments in subsidiaries/associates, and foreign entities.
- Statutory & Bursa Malaysia Disclosures: Coordinate and review quarterly announcements, interim financial statements, and the Annual Report to ensure rigorous compliance with MFRS and Bursa Malaysia reporting frameworks.
- Board & Audit Committee Submissions: Review financial papers and presentation decks prepared for the Audit Committee and Board of Directors, ensuring data accuracy and quality disclosures.
- Management Reporting & Financial Analysis: Review monthly Group and subsidiary management accounts (revenue, EBITDA, cash flow), leading detailed variance analyses against budgets and forecasts to deliver actionable insights to Senior Management.
- Technical Accounting & MFRS Advisory: Monitor updates in financial reporting standards, evaluate their impact on the Group, and prepare technical accounting position papers for complex or non-routine transactions.
- Internal Controls & Process Enhancement: Review consolidation workflows and internal controls continuously, standardizing accounting practices and implementing reporting system enhancements.
- External Audit & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary liaison with external auditors to manage audit clearances, resolve technical accounting queries, and coordinate with Tax, Treasury, Company Secretarial, and Legal teams.
- Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Support the review of Group annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts, analyzing key business drivers and financial projections.
- People Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and build technical capabilities across the Group Consolidation & Reporting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, MICPA, CPA, or equivalent).
- Registered member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) or a recognized professional body is an advantage.
- Minimum 6 - 8 years of working experience.
- In-depth practical knowledge of MFRS, statutory regulations, and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of Group consolidation mechanics, foreign currency translation, and intercompany eliminations.
- Advanced financial modeling and data presentation proficiency using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with major ERP and financial consolidation systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Cognos) is an added advantage.
