The Crew, Ambassadors (Park & Central Zone Operations) at the Singapore Oceanarium plays a vital front-line role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. As the first point of contact for visitors, the crew is responsible for providing warm hospitality, sharing accurate information about the habitats, ensuring guest safety, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the Singapore Oceanarium. This role involves assisting with crowd management, facilitating educational activities, supporting events, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively greet, assist, and engage guests in a warm, professional, and approachable manner to create a welcoming environment.
  • Provide accurate and detailed information about the oceanarium’s habitats, events, and ongoing activities to enhance the guest experience.
  • Facilitate and host small-scale events, including public presentations and interactive activities.
  • Support special events such as weddings, seminars, and corporate functions by assisting with setup, operations, and guest management.
  • Operate and manage designated workstations or activity zones to ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the oceanarium.
  • Perform as or accompany animated character mascots during guest interactions and photo opportunities, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with crowd control by setting up and removing barricades or signages as needed, before, during, and after events.
  • Manage guest flow for general admission, school groups, and special events, ensuring an organised and pleasant experience for all visitors.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are upheld throughout the oceanarium, including assisting in light cleaning, reporting hazards, and securing areas after operational hours.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance service delivery and operational excellence.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism or relevant discipline.
  • Candidates with GCE O/A levels or equivalent, with strong presentation skills will also be considered.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to respond promptly and professionally to guest needs and inquiries.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with guests, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret operational documents, including safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.
  • Confident and comfortable in delivering engaging presentations and public talks to diverse audiences.
  • Able to handle marine animals safely and responsibly at touch pools, following established animal care and safety protocols.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage guests and colleagues in a warm, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Physically fit and able to perform duties requiring prolonged periods of walking or standing.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including during weekends and public holidays.
