Data Center Infrastructure Server Operations Expert, DCS

Team Introduction: The ByteDance Server Operations Team is responsible for the full lifecycle operation management and operation technical services of ByteDance's massive server fleet, delivering industry-leading server operation and maintenance services to businesses to ensure and drive their growth. Its job responsibilities cover areas including server operation management, stability operation management, data center server operation and maintenance management, maintenance and repair, as well as the planning and development of operational process specifications and platform systems.

Job Description

1. Responsible for the operation and management of large-scale servers, including the construction of server firmware management system and BMC management system, as well as the development of related server operation and maintenance automation and GUI-based operation capabilities
2. Responsible for the construction of the automated server operation and maintenance system, including the development of automated capabilities for operation and maintenance commands, scripts, tools, and firmware upgrade
3. In charge of formulating and implementing automated solutions for BMC management networks, and working together with the security and network engineering teams to build a secure and controllable operation and maintenance environment, so as to provide users with fast and highly available BMC services
4. Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of hardware/software related to server operation and maintenance, online troubleshooting, fault handling, as well as diagnosis and analysis of complex issues
5. Responsible for software and tool development, system management and other work, to ensure the efficient and stable operation of relevant operation and maintenance automation services

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in science and engineering, such as computer science, electronic information engineering, automation and other related majors; those with extensive experience in large-scale server infrastructure management and architecture design are preferred
2. Proficient in mainstream server hardware architectures (such as x86, ARM, etc.) and their supporting software, and capable of independently troubleshooting and optimizing server anomalies

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Excellent problem analysis and troubleshooting skills, capable of independently handling complex system and hardware faults, and formulating emergency response plans and long-term solutions.
2. Proficient in Linux systems, skilled in server hardware configuration and troubleshooting under Linux environments; adept at Shell scripting, and proficient in using either Python or Golang programming languages.
3. Strong sense of responsibility, meticulous and conscientious, passionate about work and team-oriented; quick at learning, full of enthusiasm and curiosity for new technologies, strong in problem-solving and hands-on capabilities; and able to adapt to fast-paced work and a diverse range of tasks.
