The Data Custodian supports the NHG Group Data Office Information Management team in developing and governing the One NHG Common Data Model (ONCDM) to drive consistent, good-quality, and standardized data across the NHG cluster. The role requires strong technical skills in data profiling, validation, testing, and quality assurance to support Healix. The incumbent will identify data gaps, resolve data quality issues, manage data catalogues and metadata assets, and work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data assets are trusted, and fit for analytics and operational use.

ONCDM Development and Maintenance

- Develop and maintain the One NHG Common Data Model (ONCDM), including data definitions, business glossaries, and metadata standards.

- Drive data discovery, profiling, standardization, and harmonization initiatives across business domains

Data Standards, Quality and Testing

- Work with stakeholders to ensure new data solutions, integrations, and datasets align with ONCDM standards.

- Perform data profiling, validation, testing, and quality assurance for Silver Layer

- Identify and resolve data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps with stakeholders, while maintaining data quality controls and monitoring processes.

Data Catalogue and Metadata Management

- Manage and maintain enterprise data catalogues, including Epic reports, dashboards, and HEALIX data assets, to ensure accuracy and usability.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to collect, validate, publish, and continuously improve metadata and data catalogue content.

Business Requirements Management

- Perform data discovery and fact-finding activities to understand data elements, definitions, and business requirements.

- Collaborate with business users, Data Engineering, Synapxe, and vendors to clarify data requirements, resolve data gaps, and align data definitions and transformation logic for Bronze-to-Silver layer initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

- Healthcare professionals who take an interest in data management to enable support & improve healthcare.

- Preferably a tertiary degree from a recognized university.

- Preferably 5-10 years of relevant working experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of principles of Data Lakehouse projects, data analysis and data profiling.

- Strong technical skills for data profiling and validation, and a good understanding of data modelling concepts (logical, physical, dimensional).
