Seagate Research Group (SRG) conducts research to transform Seagate’s considerable technical expertise, innovation, and manufacturing excellence to develop innovative technologies for the rapidly growing datasphere.

SRG - Data Trust (DT) Vector focuses on increasing security & privacy capabilities to anchor Seagate as the industry leader of trustworthy storage solutions.

Currently DT team is seeking interns to assist research on exciting emerging cryptographical, biometrics and/or security technologies. This position offers a variety of opportunities to prototype, experiment and benchmark innovative ideas and concepts in projects.

About the role - you will:

The Intern will be involved in exciting projects involving proof of concepts for cryptographical, security and/or authentication techniques.

The successful candidate will work with the global team of Seagate Research around either one or more of the following:

  • Biometrics
  • Cryptography
  • Hardware/embedded system related to data security and/or security

The Intern is expected to apply his/her knowledge to research on threat landscape and state of the art technologies to address the threats.

Able to commit a full time Semester internship. (Jan to Jun)

Your experience includes:

Currently pursuing a Postgraduate in Mathematics, Cryptography, Computer Science, Information Systems & Analytics, Bioengineering or Technology.

Exposure to cybersecurity, cryptography, bioengineering, and coding or programming.

Knowledge or experience in cryptography, data security, biometrics, bioinformatics.

  • Experience in creating and building hardware/pcb for embedded system involving security projects

Experience with development in a Linux environment is an advantage.

Location:

The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass-transportation to work.
