RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source and develop compelling story ideas and leads
- Pitch, research, and deliver original and enterprise stories across assigned platforms
- Cover daily events and reporting assignments
- Film, script and edit short-form video content
- Leverage social media platforms for news gathering and audience engagement
- Develop subject-matter expertise in key coverage areas
- Conceptualise, plan, and assign editorial content across digital, television, and radio platforms, drawing from multiple sources to ensure depth and diversity of coverage
- Edit, review, and vet content to ensure accuracy, balance, objectivity, timeliness and adherence to editorial guidelines
- Uphold and enforce high editorial standards, ensuring all content is relevant, compelling and of the highest quality
- Manage special editorial projects and cross-platform initiatives as assigned by the Chief Editor
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in journalism, broadcasting, or media production
- Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese, with strong proficiency in English
- Strong editorial judgment with a deep understanding of local news, current affairs, and media trends
- Proven editing and writing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and project management skills; dynamic, resourceful, and a collaborative team player with excellent communication abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, in line with newsroom operations
