Educational Assistant (Secondary)

MISSION
In the secondary level, under the authority of the head of the school who relies on the educational teams, the AEDs participate in the supervision and educational follow-up of the students. The AEDs are placed under the responsibilitý of the CPEs who ensure the functioning of the school life service and organize the AEDs' timetable.
RESPONSABILITIES
The AEDs participate in the supervision and educational follow-up of the students and can ensure in particular:
- The supervision of students from arrival
to departure and in different contexts, such as recess, lunch time, school outings, ensuring their safety and well-being,
- Calling and recording student
absences/late arrivals, and analyzing them in the student follow-up
- Ensuring compliance with the school rules
and safety regulations
- Supervision of student detentions
(Saturday morning)
- Supervision and animation of the
activities of the college students' home and the high school students' house,
- Participation in any educational, sports,
social, artistic or cultural activitý complementary to the teachings,
- Assistance in the preparation and
implementation of educational activities, in collaboration with teachers; help with study and homework,
- Creating a positive learning environment
by fostering a good school climate, encouraging respect and tolerance, and helping to promote student well-being,
- Participating in the organization of
examinations and competitions
The job description does not describe the activities in detail. The Educational Assistant may be required́ to perform other activities as required by the department.
I - Diplomas / Training / Experience required
- A high school diploma is required,
- Experience in animation or in accompanying
teenagers is an advantage.
II - Skills required for the position
- Knowledge:
- Circular 2003-092 of 11/06/2003 concerning
the status of the AED
- The internal regulations of the
establishment
- French language proficiency preferred
- Knowledge of the
child and adolescents:
- Have a minimum of knowledge about
adolescence and know how to position oneself (general knowledge about education, educational relationships and the exercise of educational authority)
- Create the conditions for a climate of
trust and listening
- Manage student discipline and behaviour
situations in an appropriate manner
- Know-how:
- Know how to apply the internal regulations
- Know how to use professional digital tools
- Know how to be organized and methodical
- Know how to be:
