Job Requirement

Qualification: Minimum Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

Minimum 3 years working experience as a practitioner in manufacturing or related field, applicable for Diploma holders.

Other Personal Capabilities: Strong leadership skills, independent with self-drive, result orientated, good problem solving and reporting skills, analytical skills, critical thinking skills and good communication skills.

Job Responsibility

Project Planning and Execution

1. Develop detailed project plans and schedules for production line setups and modifications.
2. Coordinate with internal departments (Production, PEM, EHS, Purchasing) and external contractors/suppliers.
3. Initiate Material Requisitions (MRs) to secure components required in order to completed maintenance / repair timely manner without disruption. Obtain necessary approval for a Purchase Requisition (PRs) for procurement of services or components from external vendors.
4. Monitor project progress, manage timelines, track deliverables, and escalate delays or issues.

Installation and Commissioning

5. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of production lines.
6. Work closely with contractor, maintenance and automation teams to integrate equipment and ensure operational readiness.
7. Ensure that EHS protocols and engineering standards are followed during installation and start-up phases.

Drive Continuous Improvement

8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance provided to analyse the trend (based work done report) of the equipment to determine necessary fine tuning of preventive maintenance plan that best suit the production requirements.
9. Monitor, review and drive lower utilities and energy consumption (electricity, water, gas) and develop improvement plans.

Safety, Standards and Compliance

10. Define, communicate and review the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) for processes, equipment, installation and ensure it is kept current.
11. Cultivate and enforce safe working practices to ensure safety of the workforce in the team, compliance to safety standards and drive toward zero loss time injury. Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and PPE usage compliance within team.
12. Ensure that the work area is constantly kept tidy and in order according to the 5S concept / standard in the plant

Develop Human Capital

13. Share knowledge, leading practices, experiences while performing the job, to develop stronger and competent team.
14. Mentor inexperienced technicians to develop skills and provide technical leadership (formal or informal) through on the job experience as well as comprehensive understanding of the production operational requirements.
