ENGINEER FOR QC

About the role

Southern Cable Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Engineer for QC to join our Quality Assurance & Control team. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Ketil, Kedah, where you will play a vital role in ensuring that our manufacturing processes meet the highest quality standards. As an Engineer for QC, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving quality control procedures across our operations, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and implementing quality control procedures and standards in compliance with industry regulations and company policies
• Conducting regular inspections and testing of products throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects and deviations
• Analysing quality data and preparing detailed reports to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement
• Collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Maintaining accurate documentation of all quality control activities and test results
• Performing statistical analysis and quality audits to ensure continuous compliance with established standards
• Training and mentoring production staff on quality standards and procedures
• Liaising with suppliers to address material quality concerns and ensure consistent input standards
• Recommending equipment upgrades and process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 1 years of experience in quality assurance and control within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems and ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or equivalent)
• Proficiency in quality control tools and statistical analysis methods, such as SPC, Six Sigma, or Lean methodologies
• Experience with testing equipment and quality inspection procedures relevant to cable or electronics manufacturing
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quality management software
• A valid driving licence is advantageous
• Preferred: Certification in quality management or Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt)
