Engineer, Pilot Plant & Utilities

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Conduct R&D studies in pilot plant of synthetic latex plant.
2. Perform lab scale and pilot scale trial runs, monitor and control process parameters throughout the trial run. Report the performance and outcome of the trial run.
3. Plan schedule of trial runs and instruments in lab and pilot plant. Record utilization of the lab and pilot plant equipment.
4. Propose and implement projects that improve operation and safety of pilot plant.
5. Prepare work instruction and standard operation procedure of pilot plant.
6. Conduct daily inspection for pilot plant equipment such as reactors, control system, utilities and analytical instruments to ensure the equipment is in good and safe condition.
7. Work with production to upscale R&D formulation and fine tune process parameters.
8. Provide technical support to customer and assist the customer to use the product.
9. Carry out corrective action to rectify non conformance spotted in the pilot plant.
10. Supervise juniors and general workers in pilot plant to perform daily operation of the pilot plant.
11. Ensure equipment in pilot plant is always in good condition by implement appropriate preventive maintenance schedule, troubleshooting checklist and calibration record. Liaise with M&E department to rectify the malfunctioning equipment.
12. Monitor inventory in pilot plant.
13. Ensure the pilot plant is always in presentable condition and with tip top cleanliness.
14. Prepare & participate in internal & external inspection in pilot plant.
15. Communicate effectively and regularly to reporting superiors on project progress, results and analysis in terms of complete study reports, presentations, and meetings.
16. Shall take additional responsibility as instructed by the immediate superior.
