Job Purpose
The Executive - Accounts is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing financial reports. This role ensures the timely and accurate preparation of budgets, financial statements, levy management, and statutory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Analyse financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss, cash flow) and identify key trends.
- Conduct variance analysis between actuals and budget/forecast to understand financial performance.
- Prepare management reports that provide insights into financial and operational performance.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Track budget performance across departments and highlight any potential issues.
- Ensure that the financial forecasting aligns with the overall business strategy and objectives.
- Compliance, Audit & Tax
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and corporate tax filings.
- Prepare and review tax calculations and submissions.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
- Cash Flow Management, Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for daily operations
- Actively exercise loan repayment / external placement
- Oversee the timely processing of accounts payable and receivable.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate billing and payment processing.
- Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Participate in automation and reporting enhancements.
- Ensure that proper internal controls are in place for financial operations
- Identify areas for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ad-hoc
- Support strategic decision-making with relevant financial insights.
- Carry out feasibility study on potential new business / investment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by superior/HOD
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy/Finance. Professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA etc.) is an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently.
