Executive (Commercial Excellence) - 2 years Contract

Job description

As part of the Commercial Excellence (COMEX) team, you will report to the Manager and collaborate closely with internal business stakeholders and, occasionally, external vendors or agencies. Your role will focus on supporting data-driven decision-making and strategic planning through the development of reports, dashboards, and analytical insights—particularly in the areas of product performance, pricing, and promotion effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse product classes using internal and external data (e.g., market share, pricing, promotion) to generate actionable insights for category reviews.
• Evaluate promotion effectiveness and pricing to determine the impact of trade activities initiated by stakeholders.
• Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to stay informed on product and category developments.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses related to market share, pricing, and promotional performance to address business challenges.
• Develop and maintain accurate, timely dashboards and reporting tools to support strategic and operational planning.
• Prepare concise and insightful reports and presentations for management.
• Continuously review and improve existing reporting and data processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Track ongoing initiatives and ensure timely updates are shared with relevant stakeholders.
• Support the annual budgeting process and weekly performance tracking.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Degree in any discipline (Diploma holders with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Prior experience in the retail or FMCG sector is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of business operations.
• Familiarity with promotion and pricing strategy is a plus.
• Excellent spreadsheet and presentation skills.
• Experience using SQL and other relevant analytical tools (R, etc.) is a plus.
• Able to work independently.
• Motivated, meticulous, and attentive to details.
• Experience in developing dashboards using Tableau or similar platforms is desirable.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data into actionable recommendations.
