Executive, Finance & Account 1 (Fixed Term Contract – 1 Year)
MISC
This role resides under Marine Services (the Integrated Marine Services arm of MISC Group).
THE JOB
Responsible in managing the functions of Management Accounting, Audit, Accounts Payable, Cash Management and Asset Management, in accordance with MISC Group Accounting & Financial Policies, Statutory requirements, Malaysia’s Financial Reporting Standards, company’s procedures & guidelines, practice of good governance and integrity in the overall process.
MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING
- Prepare Monthly / Quarterly Management Report and financial related information for internal use and submission to relevant parties i.e. Management Committee, Boards, MISC and stakeholders.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
- Analyze and validate the financial reports (actual against budget) by preparing Management Financial Report for every period end closing.
- Maintain chart of accounts to ensure accurate classification of accounts in compliance with procedures.
- Manage account closing activities by planning, monitoring and expediting the process to ensure compliance with Group Accounting Financial Policies.
FINANCIAL SERVICES
- Ensure proper process of Account Payables and advising correct profit center, cost center and general ledger number.
- Ensure timely payments made to vendors for all approved invoices.
- Review creditor’s reconciliation on monthly basis.
- Review weekly and monthly cash flow forecast to always ensure sufficient funds in order to meet payment schedule/financial obligations.
FIXED ASSETS ACCOUNTING
- Responsible for complying with asset accounting policies; ensure that fixed assets and project- in progress additions, transfers and deletions are timely and accurately updated in the financial statement. The fixed assets are tagged and tally with the fixed assets listing. Assist in handling insurance coverage to ensure that assets are safeguarded.
- Secretary of Asset Disposal and Write-off Committee (ADWC).
AUDIT
- Coordinate audit process for Financial Year End audit, Group Internal Audit and other Finance audit activities to provide reliable and timely financial statements for statutory reporting in line with regulatory, Government requirements and MISC/PETRONAS Group Policies and Guidelines.
- Preparing draft financial audited report in accordance with Group Accounting Financial Policies, International Financial Reporting Standard and Malaysia Financial Reporting Standard in timely manner.
FINANCIAL CONTROL FRAMEWORK
- Review and validate narration and process flow to incorporate any updated changes in the business operation.
- Manage FCF testing activities by planning, monitoring and expediting the process to ensure compliance as per target submission set by Group Accounts.
FINANCIAL ADVISORY
- Responsible to advice on the interpretation of SUPSB financial policies and procedures, application of the Limits of Authority (LOA), usage of the chart of accounts, cost centers / projects and the accounting treatment in relation to financial and management reporting to ensure compliance and practice of good corporate governance.
NETWORKING
- Establish and promote good rapport and networking within SUPSB, Shared Service, Creditors and other Companies within the industry for effective working relationship and to identify opportunities by leveraging knowledge sharing, best practices and benchmarking.
THE PERSON
- At least 5 years’ working experience in finance and accounts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance OR
- Professional Accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent).
