JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Preferably Degree in Islamic Finance / Business Administration / Banking / Accountancy / Financial Crime or other related field. Professional qualifications or certifications (CAMCO, ACAMS or ICA-AICB) in related to the job functions would be an added advantage.
- Preferably, with 1-3 years of practical experiences in banking operations, control functions and/or fraud management function of financial institutions. In addition, familiar with regulations by Bank Negara Malaysia, Labuan Financial Services Authority, Securities Commission Malaysia, etc.
- Pleasant personality, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and courteousness, and able to work under pressure.
- Keep abreast of law and regulatory requirement related to AMLA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
CUSTOMER DUE DILIGENCE & ONGOING DUE DILIGENCE CHECK (i) New to Bank
- Review and validate CDD and EDD information on customer profiles obtained during on-boarding of new relationship with the bank.
- Obtain approval from the relevant approving authority for on-boarding (higher risk clients) prior to establishing a relationship.
- Assist business units and branches in accordance with the bank CDD policy and the regulatory policy.
(ii) Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD)
- Perform ODD review on customers in accordance with the review frequency.
- Obtain approval from the relevant approving authority for maintaining or exiting relationship with customer.
- Ensure the quality and completeness of ODD exercise conducted.
(iii) Exit Management
- Act as a contact person between Compliance Division and Business Units in relations to terminating relationship of a customer.
- Review request to exit relationship by relevant departments and assist in providing recommendations on the next course of action with business units.
(iv) PEP Approval Management
- Act as a contact person for managing CDD and EDD approval for on-boarding relationship with the bank.
ALERTS MANAGEMENT
- To perform assessment on alerts triggered and provide recommendation to reviewer for approval.
RISK AND COMPLIANCE
- Monitor and ensure compliance of the relevant guidelines and policies.
- Demonstrate high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws including Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of unlawful Activities Act 2001 (“AMLA”), IFSA, PDPA etc.
POLICIES, SYSTEMS, PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES
- Implement policies, systems, processes and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices on improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
OCCUPATIONAL, HEALTH & SAFETY (OHS)
- To comply with the OHS Act 1994 including:-
a) “to take reasonable care for the safety and health of himself and of other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions at work”; b) “to co-operate with his employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty or requirement imposed on the employer or that other person by this Act or any regulation made thereunder; c) “to wear or use at all times any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer for the purpose of preventing risks to his safety and health; and d) “to comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health instituted by his employer or any other person by or under this Act or any regulation made thereunder”.
OTHERS
- To timely address and rectify observations related to KYC highlighted by management, regulators, external and internal auditors.
- To undertake ad-hoc assignments and special project tasks, as may be assigned by senior managers.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time or as and when required.
