Summary

The primary purpose of a Skilled Helper Technician in facility management is to perform a variety of skilled tasks related to building maintenance, repair, and construction. This includes addressing issues such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general facility repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of the facility.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform routine maintenance and minor repair works, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
2. Carry out preventive maintenance and routine inspections to ensure facilities are safe, clean, and in good working condition.
3. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair works within the assigned site.
4. Assist in moving, installing, and maintaining furniture, equipment, and facility assets as required.
5. Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely, and report any defects or malfunctions to the superior.
6. Ensure compliance with Company policies, safety procedures, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements at all times.
7. Maintain basic records of maintenance activities and report defects, hazards, and completed work to the immediate superior.
8. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior and/or the Company from time to time.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience in general maintenance, building services, or a related field is an advantage; fresh candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, or general repair works.
• Able to operate basic maintenance tools and equipment safely.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work, including lifting and carrying materials.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, or on-call when required.
• Good communication skills, positive attitude, and strong commitment to workplace safety.
