Group Lead - Search Operations - Kuala Lumpur

About the team The Search Operations team aims to improve search user experience, contribute significant DAU impact to the products and drive for increase in traffic and GMV.

This is an on-site operation management role based in Kuala Lumpur. You will take full ownership of a local in-house team of over 100 employees, overseeing end-to-end site operations, including workforce management, daily discipline, productivity, quality assurance, and AI-driven digital transformation. You will continuously optimize operational efficiency and accuracy to ensure stable, high-quality, and scalable site performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Workforce Management & Manpower Optimization

Lead manpower scheduling, resource allocation, and talent pipeline building for the 100+ team. Dynamically adjust staffing based on business fluctuations, standardize workforce management workflows, avoid manpower waste or resource shortage, and ensure stable business delivery.

• On-site Management & Team Discipline

Establish and implement site operation rules, attendance policies, and reward & penalty systems. Conduct regular on-site inspection and rectification to standardize team behavior and maintain a disciplined, efficient, and orderly working atmosphere.

• Performance & Quality Improvement

Establish regular data review mechanisms focusing on core indicators including productivity, accuracy rate, output capacity and error rate. Identify operational bottlenecks, optimize processes iteratively, and ensure the achievement of company operational targets.

• AI & Digital Transformation

Lead the implementation of AI tools, automated workflows and intelligent systems on site. Transform traditional manual operation modes, reduce redundant labor work, and drive overall organizational improvement in efficiency and accuracy through intelligent empowerment.

• Talent Management & Team Building

Take charge of team performance appraisal, incentive mechanism, skill training and talent retention. Build backbone talent pipelines, solve management pain points of large-scale teams, reduce turnover rate, and build a stable and high-performance operation team.

• Reporting & Cross-functional Collaboration

Compile regular reports on operation performance, workforce status and digital transformation progress. Collaborate with headquarters and cross-functional teams to fully implement company’s operational strategies and iterative requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of management experience leading in-house full-time teams, with proven experience managing 100+ internal employees.
• Proficient in workforce management, on-site supervision and performance system building for large-scale teams; strong capabilities in data analysis, regular review and process optimization.
• Possess digital and AI operation mindset with practical experience in implementing intelligent tools and operational optimization projects.
• Strong overall coordination capability, leadership and stress tolerance; capable of taking full accountability for end-to-end site operation results.
• Available to work full-time in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and adapt to overseas working environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or above; exceptional candidates with rich experience are preferred with flexible qualification consideration.
• Fluency in Mandarin, Chinese is required for interacting with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, plus fluency in English as the primary working language.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in managing large-scale operation teams in Internet, digital operation or intelligent operation industries.
• Overseas working or cross-border team management experience, familiar with Malaysia local working environment.
• Proven successful cases in AI operation implementation, automated process transformation and operation system upgrading.
