The Opportunity
As Head of Corporate, Underwriting, you will be responsible for the strategic management and profitable growth of QBE's Corporate portfolio in Singapore. You will oversee underwriting performance, portfolio management, business planning and execution while ensuring alignment with QBE's strategic objectives, underwriting frameworks and regulatory requirements.
You will play a critical role in balancing growth, profitability and risk management, ensuring the portfolio delivers sustainable financial performance while meeting customer and market needs.

Your New Role
Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Management
- Lead the development and execution of the annual business plan for the Corporate portfolio, ensuring delivery against growth, profitability and performance objectives.
- Drive portfolio strategy, underwriting performance and pricing discipline to optimise portfolio outcomes.
- Provide leadership across Corporate product lines, ensuring alignment with local, regional and enterprise underwriting strategies.
- Manage the country P&L for designated business lines, delivering sustainable and profitable growth.
- Identify emerging market opportunities, industry trends and portfolio insights to support business expansion and innovation.
Underwriting Excellence & Risk Management
- Hold local underwriting authority across Corporate product classes and make sound underwriting decisions within delegated authority.
- Ensure adherence to underwriting standards, governance frameworks, risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of disciplined underwriting, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Monitor portfolio performance and implement actions to optimise risk selection, pricing adequacy and profitability.
Stakeholder Engagement & Market Leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, business partners and key stakeholders.
- Represent QBE in the market, strengthening our reputation as a trusted risk partner.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes and insurance cycles to enhance business performance.
- Collaborate closely with regional and global underwriting leaders to leverage expertise, share insights and drive strategic initiatives.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing underwriting team.
- Build capability through technical development, mentoring and succession planning.
- Create an inclusive, collaborative and performance-oriented culture aligned with QBE's values and leadership expectations.
- Manage performance fairly, consistently and in accordance with QBE's performance framework.About you
- Significant underwriting experience with regional exposure.
- Established customer and broker relationships.
About you
You will be an accomplished underwriting leader with a strong track record of managing complex portfolios and leading high-performing teams within the commercial or corporate insurance market.
- Extensive experience in Corporate or Commercial Insurance underwriting leadership.
- Proven ability to manage large and complex insurance portfolios with accountability for underwriting profitability and growth.
- Strong technical underwriting expertise across Corporate lines.
- Demonstrated experience in portfolio management, pricing strategy and business planning.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and underwriting governance frameworks.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Established relationships within the Singapore insurance market and broker community would be highly regarded.
