Head of Production (For Operating Company)

Principle of Job

To plan, implement and improve the effective and efficient operation of casting and machining productions to ensure capability and capacity of meeting or exceeding customer needs and expectations. The function includes all necessary activities of meeting or exceeding the requirements of product quality, product cost and pricing, acceptable order lead-time, product supply consistency and on time delivery. The function requires the practices of good productivity, quality, competency & commitment and continuous improvement management systems.

Job Description

1. To plan, implement and improve the effective and efficient operation of casting and machining productions to ensure capability and capacity of meeting or exceeding customer needs and expectations.
2. To develop Production Forecast based on sales and financial forecasts. To coordinate production planning and scheduling of all interlink products and processes in manufacturing. To strive for minimum inventory, in line with lean manufacturing JIT concept.
3. To determine, standardize and implement suitable, effective and efficient casting and machining processes as well as related machine and equipment maintenance processes. To ensure full team competency on such processes through appropriate training and competency qualification program.
4. To determine and implement appropriate Production Management System that may include recognized systems like Total Productive Maintenance, World Class Manufacturing, etc. To develop or enhance such systems to the specific customized needs or the organization for best possible quality and productivity.
5. To determine and ensure the human asset effectiveness and efficiency – through adequate competency, expertise, commitment and motivation processes based on the right organization values and culture.
6. To indoctrinate continuous improvement program to all manufacturing employees. to train and bring to competent on all necessary problem-solving tools. to focus on improvement of manufacturing processes, manufacturing systems and people competency for ultimate return in quality, productivity and cost improvement.

Job Requirements

• Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Technical or any related.
• At least 10 years of experience in production or manufacturing field.
• Good knowledge of process implementation, smart manufacturing, production forecasting and engineering process.
• Exposure to aluminium diecasting products/ automotive industry will be added advantage.
