JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Strategic Management, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, or strategic management credentials) are an added advantage.
- Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, or business transformation, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in evaluating and executing complex strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, capital investments, and portfolio restructuring.
- Proven track record of working closely with C-suite executives and Boards of Directors to shape and implement enterprise-wide strategies.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Expertise in market intelligence, scenario planning, and opportunity assessment to support strategic decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all organizational levels.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate strategic concepts clearly to internal and external audiences, including the Board.
- Deep understanding of the banking and financial services industry, including market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Proven ability to lead transformation initiatives and manage organizational change in complex and dynamic environments.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.
- Experience in brand positioning and strategic communications to support the bank’s growth and differentiation.
- Ability to represent the bank’s strategic vision and initiatives to external stakeholders, partners, and regulators.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development, articulation, and execution of the Bank’s corporate strategy in alignment with its mission, vision, and long-term objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the PCEO, Senior Leadership Team, and Board of Directors, providing insights and recommendations on emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Oversee the end-to-end strategic planning process, including environmental scanning, scenario analysis, goal setting, and performance tracking.
- Ensure alignment of divisional and departmental strategies with the overarching corporate strategy, fostering a unified direction across the organization.
- Identify, evaluate, and drive high-impact strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, capital investments, and new business models.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic projects, ensuring timely delivery, risk mitigation, and measurable outcomes.
- Establish and maintain a robust market intelligence framework to monitor industry trends, competitor movements, and regulatory developments.
- Translate insights into actionable strategies that enhance the Bank’s competitive positioning and long-term sustainability.
- Champion innovation by exploring and implementing new business models, digital strategies, and operational enhancements that drive value creation.
- Collaborate with business units to pilot and scale transformative initiatives that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with the Corporate Communications and Brand teams to ensure the Bank’s strategic narrative is clearly communicated internally and externally.
- Represent the Bank in strategic forums, industry events, and with key stakeholders to reinforce its strategic direction and brand positioning.
- Foster a culture of strategic thinking and agility across the organization.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of strategic initiatives and alignment of people, processes, and systems.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Management from time to time or as and when necessary for the effective realization of the job purpose.
