Industrial Trainee – Safety & Health (EHS/OSH)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and responsible Industrial Trainee to join our Safety & Health team. The trainee will gain hands-on exposure to workplace safety, occupational health, environmental practices and regulatory compliance within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Safety & Health team in daily EHS activities.
• Conduct workplace safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions.
• Assist in HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control) activities.
• Support monitoring of PPE compliance and workplace housekeeping/5S activities.
• Assist in preparing and updating safety procedures, checklists and documentation.
• Support incident, accident and near-miss reporting and investigation.
• Assist in conducting safety awareness programmes, toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
• Support emergency response activities, fire drills and evacuation exercises.
• Assist in monitoring chemical safety, scheduled waste and environmental requirements.
• Support EHS audits, inspections and compliance activities.

About you

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Environmental Science, Engineering or other related disciplines.
• Basic knowledge of workplace safety and health practices.
• Knowledge of HIRARC, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or Malaysian OSH requirements is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Responsible, proactive and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work in a manufacturing/semiconductor environment.
• Able to complete the internship according to the required duration by the university/college.
