Intern - Sustainability

Job description

This internship program provides an opportunity to understand the planning and execution of GreenHouse Gas (GHG) emission reduction pathway of an organisation. In particular, it introduces the intern to the Net Zero implementation for Scope 1, 2, and 3; and circular economy.

The key learning objectives are as follows:

1. Execution

Provide an understanding on Scope 1 execution in (a) Shift to CO2 refrigerant; and (b) Electrifying fleet

2. Renewable Energy

Provide an understanding on sources of Renewable Energy, pathway to convert brown to green energy and power purchase agreements

3. GHG Emission

Provide an overview of 15 categories in Scope 3, GHG protocol methodology, how to gather info, sources of emission factor (EF), how to apply EF, target setting based on SBTi and roadmapping process

4. ISSB Transition Roadmap

Provide an overview of ISSB S1 and S2 standards, TCFD framework on Governance, Strategy, Risk Management and Metrics and Targets, Climate Risks and Opportunities, Scenario Analysis

5. Circular Economy

Provide an understanding of initiatives under Packaging Reduction and Food Waste Reduction

Job Scope

The intern shall assist the Reporting Officer (RO) in the following areas:

1. Project Management

Assists in coordination of meetings with relevant departments

Prepares documentation of notes of meetings;

Tracks development of the projects and prompts various parties on progress where required

2. Data Organisation and Documentation

Assists in gathering, compiling, reviewing data sets;

Performs required analysis, categorization and documentation;

Ensures that all project data and decks are diligently archived in proper folders

3. Event Organising, Planning and Execution

Assists in Sustainability Champions Retreat, Suppliers' Outreach Program, and periodic Sus Champions meeting

Suggests and creates content for such programs

Coordinates with relevant departments and personnels on the planning

4. Project Update and Presentation

Assists in coordinating inputs on Scope 3, ISSB, Pillar 6 project and dashboard update;

Create presentation materials where required;

Research into specific sustainability topics where required

And any other tasks that are being assigned.

Completion Project

At the end of the attachment, intern to present to the RO on the following:

Requirements

• Keen interest in Sustainability and Climate-related subjects
• Eager to learn and work on Net Zero projects
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• High level of professionalism and integrity (sensitive information will be shared during the attachment and intern shall not use the information for any purpose other than related to the work assigned during this attachment)
