Job description
- Prepare basic food items including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting of raw ingredients.
- Portion and pack cooked food and pack meals according to standards.
- Assist with preparation and packing of tea break items and beverages.
- Conduct pre-cooking checks, prepare raw materials for upcoming meals, and ensure proper labelling and FIFO storage.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment, and surrounding areas, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
- Handle kitchen equipment properly and adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene SOPs.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset by being open to learning, improving work processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Packing chilled food into bento boxes for normal and therapeutic meals, ensuring correct portioning and topping up according to specified quantities.
- Sealing and labelling therapeutic meals, as well as placing and counting the bento boxes accurately in designated baskets.
Requirements
- Willing to learn, hardworking, responsible, and disciplined with a growth mindset
- Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Physically fit to carry loads of at least 10 kg and able to stand for long hours (up to 8 hours)
- Must possess a valid WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1.
