The Opportunity:

OpenText Professional Services xECM Consulting Practice role focuses on working with our strategic customers and understanding their challenges, requirements and use cases around initiatives such as Solution implementation using OpenText suite of products through services delivery.

We are seeking an Experienced Professional Services Consultant specialising in OpenText Extended ECM (xECM). You will design, configure, and deploy content management solutions that integrate seamlessly with enterprise applications like SAP, Salesforce, or Microsoft 365. This role combines technical execution with business analysis to streamline workflows, secure data assets, and enhance organizational efficiency. The role requires travel within the country and abroad as per project needs.

You Are Great At:

  • Solution Delivery: Configure OpenText Extended ECM platforms, including Content Server, Archive Center, and Business Workspaces.
  • System Integration: Map and bind metadata between xECM and leading enterprise business applications.
  • Business Analysis: Run workshops to gather user requirements and translate them into technical design documents.
  • Data Migration: Assist in data mapping, schema definition, and legacy document migration strategies.
  • Testing & Quality: Create test scripts, execute user acceptance testing (UAT), and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Client Advisory: Train client administrators and end-users to ensure smooth system adoption and self-sufficiency.
  • Focus on strategic customer opportunities and delivering value to our customers.
  • Create solutions which show the broader value of OpenText Professional Services (OTPS) solutions and at times in conjunction with strategic partners
  • Intrinsically curious about emerging technologies, with a habit of continuously upgrading skills and applying new tools to develop innovative solutions
  • Willingness to skill up on other OpenText products beyond xECM as project needs evolve.

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Experience: 7 to 8 years of overall IT/technical consulting experience.
  • Enterprise Content Management: Prior experience with OpenText Extended ECM (xECM), or any other enterprise content or document management platform (e.g., SharePoint, Documentum, FileNet, or similar), is preferred, with strong fundamentals in metadata, workflow, and access control design a plus.
  • Learning Agility: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and platforms.
  • API Integration: Experience working with REST and SOAP APIs, and SDKs in the applicable programming languages. Any experience working with migration projects is preferred.
  • Programming: Working knowledge of Java or C#/.NET for backend development and integration work.
  • Client-Side Scripting: Working knowledge of JavaScript for UI customization and client-side integration work.
  • Database: Working knowledge of writing and interpreting SQL statements for querying and troubleshooting relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) from an application user perspective.
  • Infrastructure: Installation experience with enterprise applications, and familiarity with deployment constructs such as firewalls, load balancers, and failover clusters, across Windows/Linux servers and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or OpenText Cloud).
  • AI Awareness: Basic/working familiarity with AI/ML concepts and frameworks (e.g., large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, vector search), and an understanding of how these apply to modern content and knowledge management solutions.
  • Soft Skills: Clear communication skills to explain complex technical structures to non-technical stakeholders.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • OpenText Content Server or Extended ECM Business Workspace certifications are preferred.
