LEAD SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER

About the Role

We're looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join our small, dynamic DevOps team responsible for managing our cloud environment. You'll work on infrastructure supporting 120+ microservices across 150+ nodes, playing a critical role in maintaining high availability and reliability as we scale for IPO.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes (GKE) clusters, including deployment strategies, autoscaling, and resource optimization
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI
• Implement and manage observability solutions (Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, Prometheus)
• Troubleshoot production issues across distributed systems including Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch and MySQL/PostgreSQL
• Develop infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment reliability and reduce incident response times
• Document runbooks, architecture decisions, and operational procedures
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident management

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles
• Strong experience with GCP services (GKE, Cloud SQL, Memorystore, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage) or equivalent AWS services (EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, SQS/SNS, S3)
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes administration, networking, and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) and IaC tools (Terraform)
• Experience with message brokers (Kafka) and caching systems (Redis)
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki)
• Understanding of networking concepts, load balancing, and security best practices
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD or similar pipeline tools

Nice to Have

• Experience with cost optimization in cloud environments
• Familiarity with service mesh (Istio) or API gateways
• Background in high-traffic e-commerce or marketplace platforms
• Experience with PHP (fpm/nginx), Node.js, and Golang application deployments
• Knowledge of database administration and query optimization
