Job Description:

  • Advise, identify, and provide advice in respect of legal issues and corporate secretarial for the business activities concerning the Group to ensure that the rights and interests of the organization is well protected and not compromised, legal risks are mitigated and in compliance with the relevant laws.
  • Assist in legal documentation for commercial transactions (including non-disclosure agreements, tenancy agreements, sales and purchase agreements, MOUs, letters of offers etc) entered into by the company and identify legal issues with solutions as well as participate in and support business teams on contract negotiations.
  • Assist management on law and a wide range of legal matters relating to commercial, litigation, corporate areas with solutions to mitigate legal risks.
  • Work with group legal and corporate secretarial departments on any assignments as well as project assignments assigned by Dato’ President.
  • Generally attending to and solving any legal/corporate secretarial issues that may arise from time to time and support other departments and functions as required.
  • Execute instructions given by President to Senior Management and follow up closely on the progress.
  • Manage President’s calendar and meetings.
  • Any other ad-hoc task assigned by Dato’ President from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a LLB (Hons) with at least 5 to 7 years post qualifying experience gained in private legal practice with the drive and aptitude to make the move in-house and/or a large corporate establishment including experience in private legal practice.
  • Possess well-developed understanding and knowledge in all areas of legal functions such as corporate, litigation, commercial, banking, property matters, main/second market listing requirement.
  • Possess experience in areas such as general corporate, corporate secretarial and commercial matters, banking and finance intellectual property related matters and good working knowledge of legislations applicable to the businesses of the Group such as Companies Act 2016, PDPA 2010 etc.
  • Able to work independently and multiple simultaneous tasks and with a keen eye for detail.
  • Possess strong legal analytical and writing skills with ability to identify legal and commercial issues and propose solutions to mitigate or minimize risks without compromising the Group’s interest.
  • Possess strong communication skills (written and verbal including good drafting skills) and good analytical skill.
  • A good team player.
  • A self-motivated and energetic person who can work under pressure.
