About this Position This role is responsible for ensuring logistics regulatory compliance and risk management in accordance with applicable regulations and licensing requirements. The position serves as the holder of required licenses, including poison and precursor permits, on behalf of Henkel. You will manage importation activities, oversee daily operations, and control logistics-related costs. The role also drives import and export process standardization across Malaysia and Singapore, while leading continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives. Additionally, you will provide team support through stock-taking activities, backup coverage, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth operations. What you ́ll do
- Ensure compliance with logistics, customs, chemical, and environmental regulations, including the Poison Act 1952, Drugs Act 1954, CWC Act 2005, Scheduled Waste Regulations 2005, and USECHH Regulations 2000, while managing related risks and performance metrics.
- Act as the designated license holder for Henkel, maintaining and managing all required licenses and permits, including poison and precursor licenses.
- Manage end-to-end import operations across Malaysia and Singapore, including shipment tracking, customs clearance, bonded warehouse activities, movement permits, and customs documentation.
- Support urgent shipment requirements by expediting customs clearance, resolving import issues, and ensuring uninterrupted supply chain operations.
- Ensure accurate calculation, declaration, and payment of import duties, SST, logistics charges, and related costs, including invoice verification, approval, and insurance claim management for damaged goods.
- Monitor and report import-related KPIs, costs, duties, taxes, and inventory levels, while identifying and implementing cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
- Develop, standardize, and maintain import and logistics SOPs, manage scheduled waste compliance and disposal activities, and support internal and external regulatory audits.
- Provide operational support through staff training and backup planning, stock-taking activities, safety walkarounds, and cross-functional team collaboration to ensure business continuity.
