About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Lumut, Perak on a full-time basis. This is a critical role that ensures the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems that are essential to our milling and food production operations. Your work will directly impact our ability to meet production targets whilst maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. This is a hands-on position based on-site at our Lumut facility.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, including inspections, lubrication and component replacement
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
  • Conduct repairs on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems within our milling and production facilities
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs and equipment performance
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests to minimise production downtime
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities during optimal production windows
  • Perform welding, fabrication and metal work tasks as required
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company safety policies
  • Report on equipment condition and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary

What we're looking for

  • Recognised technical qualification or trade certification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related maintenance field
  • Minimum 1-2 years of proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work independently and make sound technical decisions
  • Competency in the use of hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Welding and fabrication skills are highly desirable
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and condition monitoring techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records
  • Strong health and safety awareness with a proactive approach to workplace safety
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
