Job Requirement

Qualification: Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing / Mechatronics or equivalent from recognised university/ college.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years experience in managing inventory store / warehouse operations, with 2 years in the capacity of a managerial role or leading a team. Familiar with ISO compliance, regulatory requirements and store management system will be greatly desired.

Other Personal Capabilities: Good discipline, responsive, problem solving, action orientated, interpersonal skills and analytical mindset to identify trends.

Job Responsibility

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inventory Planning

  1. Define storage location (store), critical & strategic materials, stock reorder level, minimum order quantity (MOQ), to ensure sufficient correct material is available for manufacturing operations and with appropriate level of working capital tied down.
  2. Manage and control stock level of inventories in the store to be within the minimum and maximum (Min/Max) levels that have been agreed with the Management.
  3. Collaborate with internal customers in the Plant to ensure no stock outage situation.
  4. Constantly review and fine tune the planning approach for all consumables spare parts and equipment to avoid any disruption of production activities, optimise space utilisation and working capital management.

Inventory Movement and Controls

  1. Custodian for all incoming materials (except packaging, latex and compounding chemicals), which includes acknowledge receipt, verify quantity vs. vendor’s delivery note (DN) as well as to coordinate with relevant stakeholder for the quality/ specification buy off.
  2. Ensure movement & control of each unit of inventory (e.g. check in check out system) is diligently tracked within the Plant area (between Central Warehouse with Mini stores).
  3. Manage, track and accurately record each item sent out for repair / refurbishment of part i.e. motor sent to vendors/ suppliers/ service providers for warranty/ defects replacement / servicing purposes.
  4. Manage movement of inventory between business entities (i.e. IQ, PGA, KLI & WSM) within KOSSAN glove division that are loaned or borrowed.

Store Operations

  1. Prioritise withdrawal of stock based on batch by batch of inventory in Central Warehouse.
  2. Ensure adequate workforce is available to manage Central Warehouse operations to support the business requirements.
  3. Raise Purchase Requisition (PR) and follow up on approval for Purchase Order (PO) delivery status.
  4. Perform regular cycle count and monthly stock take to ensure actual stock inventory reconciles with stock levels captured in the system.
  5. Ensure items in the store are tidily organised and categorised according to a systematic/ structured manner to enable ease of retrieval when required.

Analysing Movement and Consumption Trend

  1. Track and analyse the movement and consumption of the inventory to identify emerging trend to be used for better manage and control of inventory.
  2. Minimise wastage (due to disposal/ scrap) caused by “non moving” items, by timely escalation to the Management for decisive action to be taken on these items.

Weighbridge Office Operations

  1. Oversee the efficient and effective usage of the weighbridge operation in the Plant.
  2. Monitor and manage to ensure the weighbridge equipment is periodically maintained and calibrated and operating optimally.

Reconciliation and Regulatory Compliance

  1. Ensure proper storage and handling of materials in the Central Warehouse.
  2. Cultivate and enforce safe working practices to ensure safety of the workforce and compliance to safety standards (supporting zero loss time injury)
  3. Address any non-conformance, irregularities, management observation, discrepancies as required with a proposed mitigating action plan.

Human Capital

  1. Develop, buddy, coach and mentor employees to ensure they are sufficiently competent to contribute towards the department and organisation objectives.
  2. Manage employees and ensure compliance to company policies, prevailing laws and regulatory requirements such as Social Compliance.
