This role resides under MISC Marine (the Integrated Marine Services arm of MISC Group).
Job Description
1.Business Needs Definition
· Assist in defining and gathering the business entity’s needs in information system solutions. Lead the team’s innovation efforts, bring in new ideas and technologies.
2.Solution Design and Development
· Create the detailed IT solution/service design, based on the functional specifications, to meet quality & performance requirements and technical constraints. Ensure designs produced adhere to architectural roadmap and support the development, execution and operations of service.
· Lead activities to develop, build, configure, customise, integrate and unit test solutions based on the functional and technical specifications to meet quality, performance and industry requirements.
3.Solution Testing and Deployment
· Lead effort in testing, debugging and documenting application. Validate that the solutions meet quality, performance, architectural and functional requirements.
· Lead implementation of application by analysing the current system environment, using technical tools and utilities, performing complex product customization, and developing implementation and verification procedures to ensure successful installation of systems hardware/software.
4.Solution Maintenance
· Plan all activities associated with implementation and maintenance of the application. Develop and recommend technical strategies and solutions to management. Maintain, update and enforce Fleet IT infrastructure standards and policies.
5.Project Management
· Undertake planning, estimating, reporting, scheduling, and resource management for projects & change enhancements in ship & fleet management. Develop project estimates & complete financial model (costs, savings, revenue opportunities, investment horizon etc.)
6.Asset & Configuration Management
· Manage configurations and ensure other IT components needed to deliver IT Services are identified, accounted, reported, verified and audited. Accountable for the day-to-day operations and support of the global fleet infrastructure and applications.
7.Stakeholder Management
· Communicate cross functionality across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive IT initiatives.
· Work closely with the Solution Delivery Manager on sourcing to ensure best possible contractual terms, to develop and maintain a quality-driven preferred supplier list.
8.Cybersecurity
· Managing, deploying and maintaining security infrastructure of the vessels. Liasing with and managing vendors to deliver networking and cybersecurity solution and/or services. Audit planning and review of Audit by TMSA, SIRE.
9.People Development
· Inspire, motivate, and coach team members to acquire and enhance technical and leadership capabilities for career development and progression.
· Inspire staff at departmental level to outperform, embrace Ownership and develop people to produce the required results.
· Promote and engage staff at the department level to foster and create sense of courage, meaning, ownership and value in line with MISC’s Cultural Beliefs.
10.Vision and Mission
· Strategize and support in building of MISC Marine’s institutional capabilities to meet the MISC Group’s vision.
· Support and assist in achieving MISC Marine’s and the Group’s vision and mission.
Other duties and projects may be assigned to the needs of the organisation.
EXPERIENCE:
- 8 years’ proven solution design experience within a complex, growing, multi-site, multi system / application environment.
- 5 years proven resource, project, and IT budget management experience.
- Strong track record of on-time, on-budget, and to-specification delivery of projects
- Relevant experience in IT services company preferred.
- Experience of IT applications and systems used in the shipping industry required.
- Experience in managing vendors and outsourcing contracts.
- People Management
QUALIFICATION:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field.
