About the role

The Manager, Finance & Accounts will be responsible for leading the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions for property development projects, with a strong focus on project financing, cashflow management, financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and financial analysis. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting business growth through sound financial planning, project feasibility evaluation, risk assessment, and strategic financial recommendations, while ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and reporting requirements.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage project financing activities, particularly for new property development projects and land acquisition exercises.
  • Oversee project funding requirements and monitor cashflow positions to ensure adequate financing arrangements are in place throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and validate rollover cashflow projections to ensure accuracy, sustainability, and alignment with development timelines.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Lead the preparation and review of interim and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, lawyers, government authorities, and other relevant stakeholders on financial, audit, taxation, and compliance matters
  • Review financial feasibility studies and project evaluations for new developments and investments, providing recommendations on financial viability and return expectations
  • Assess financial risks and opportunities arising from business operations and development projects, and advise management on appropriate financial strategies
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, business plans, and project requirements
  • Monitor budget performance against actual results, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions to achieve financial targets
  • Ensure full compliance with financial reporting standards, taxation requirements, statutory obligations, and internal policies and procedures
  • Establish, strengthen, and maintain effective internal control systems and financial governance frameworks to safeguard company assets and ensure operational integrity
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, market trends, regulatory changes, and financial practices within the property development sector
  • Support management on strategic initiatives, corporate exercises, and special projects as assigned from time to time

Job Requirement

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in finance and accounting, including at least 3 years in a managerial or reporting leadership role within a Public Listed Company (PLC) in the property development industry
  • Strong experience managing end-to-end accounting, budgeting, taxation, financial reporting, project financing, and management reporting functions
  • Proven experience in project financing, particularly for land acquisition and property development projects
  • Sound knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), taxation laws, statutory requirements, and corporate governance practices
  • Strong understanding of financial modelling, project feasibility analysis, investment evaluation, and cashflow management
  • Familiarity with local property development regulations, industry requirements, and government-related compliance matters
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate effectively with auditors, tax agents, financial institutions, legal advisors, government authorities, and senior management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive teamwork and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Experience in the implementation or rollout of MHW system will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of legal, environmental, and regulatory requirements relevant to the property development industry
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
