  1. Clinical Duties
  • To assess, investigate and manage patients presenting to A&E and related services.
  • To follow Clinical Practice Guidelines, hospital protocols, and care pathways.
  • To perform procedures within competency.
  • To refer patients to appropriate consultants when required .
  • To ensure proper handover of patients between shifts.
  • To escalate and refer patients to the Emergency Physician on duty (if available), particularly for patients in the red zone, unstable conditions, or those not responding to initial management.
  • To attend all emergency calls (Code Blue, Rapid Response Team activation, ward emergencies, and acutely-ill patient hospital-wide).
  • To assist in inpatient and outpatient clinical care when required.
  • To accompany patients during transfer when necessary.
  • To manage death cases in accordance with hospital policy
  1. Service Coverage & Deployment
  • To provide medical coverage in A&E and all services linked to A&E (including but not limited to Klinik Wakaf and other outpatient/ambulatory services)
  • To be deployed to different service areas based on operational requirements
  1. Quality & Governance
  • To participate in disaster management and hospital committees.
  • To be involved in clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement.
  • To comply with ISO, MSQH, JCI, and other accreditation standards .
  • To ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals and infection control practices.
  • To adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Act
  1. Training & Development
  • To maintain required certifications (CPR, ACLS, etc.).
  • To attend CME, in house training and training programmes.
  • To participate in departmental teaching and development activities

Professional Conduct & Compliance

  • The Medical Officer shall comply with all lawful and reasonable instructions issued by Hospital Management and the Head of Department .
  • All work-related concerns, disputes, or requests must be raised through appropriate internal channels and not via public or informal platforms.
  • The Medical Officer shall maintain professional communication at all times and avoid conduct that may disrupt departmental operations, team dynamics, or professional relationships.
