Job description
As a Senior Technician, you will leverage your extensive technical expertise and hands-on experience to perform complex maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair activities on aircraft airframes and engines. You will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while ensuring aircraft serviceability and operational readiness.
In this role, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations, you will contribute to optimizing maintenance processes, improving aircraft turnaround times, and enhancing overall fleet reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed airframe and engine maintenance, including overhaul and repairs following strict safety and quality standards.
- Lead troubleshooting and fault diagnosis activities to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and company procedures in all maintenance activities.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement modifications and improvements suggested from maintenance feedback and service bulletins.
- Support audit processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records and inspection reports.
- Perform any other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
- GCE O-Level or equivalent, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the commercial aerospace industry, preferably in airframe and engine maintenance.
- Competent in the use of hand tools and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation
- Proven experience in airframe and engine maintenance in an aerospace environment, preferably within a similar role.
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems, materials, and maintenance procedures compliant with civil aviation authorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Competent in reading and interpreting technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience guiding teams and managing workload priorities.
- Effective communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across multiple disciplines and levels of the organisation.
