Position Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager – Legal will play a crucial role in supporting the Regional Manager - Legal and Legal Department by providing comprehensive administrative support, assisting with day-to-day business operations, and ensuring the effective application of legal principles to business practices in a practical manner that safeguards the company’s interests.

  1. Contract Management
  • Review, assess, and draft a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and official correspondence.
  • Manage and maintain the Company’s contract management system, ensuring all contracts are accurately filed, tracked, and renewed or terminated as required, thereby supporting both operational efficiency and legal compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to facilitate contract execution and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and compliance requirements.
  1. Legal Research & Analysis
  • Conduct legal research on a broad range of topics, including corporate law, commercial law, intellectual property, data privacy, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on practical application to business operations.
  • Summarise findings and deliver clear, concise reports to the regional legal manager and management, highlighting implications for operational decisionmaking and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor and analyse legal and regulatory developments relevant to the company’s industry and operations, ensuring timely updates that safeguard the company’s interests while maintaining operational practicality.
  1. Administrative & Operational Support
  • Manage and organise Legal Department files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and record minutes for Legal Department meetings and other relevant discussions.
  • Act as a liaison between the Legal Department and other internal stakeholders, as well as external parties (e.g., law firms, government agencies).
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new Legal team members to ensure smooth integration.
  • Handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion, integrity, and compliance with applicable laws.
  1. Project Management
  • Support the management of legal projects by tracking deadlines, coordinating tasks, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Implement and continuously improve Legal Department processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, practicality, and risk mitigation.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB)
  • Called to the Bar
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant in a law firm.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ of experience in Corporate or in‐house practice.
