Research & Development Executive

Responsibilities

To undertake Research and Development projects at the bench and pilot plant scale level; including the sourcing and equipment; designing of experiments and the collection of process data.
To conduct pure and applied research into oleochemicals and build up company’s knowledge base in such areas.
To study and make recommendations on customers on new formulations and specifications.
To plan; record and report on his/her research. This includes documenting and analysing the results as well as compiling a formal report at the completion of projects.
To study and evaluate existing product for performance improvement/optimisation.
To provide trouble shooting services in product and process operation on project basis.
To develop and evaluate analytical test method as and when required.
To assist in setting up/maintenance of the laboratory and pilot plants for research purposes and undertake process development studies on bench; pilot and full scale.
To work in line with the Company and Department’s objectives.
Undertake any other duties as instructed by Superior from time to time.
To perform work at respective sites (ACM/ASN/AES/ECM/PCOC, etc) as deemed necessary.
Support and coordinating sustainability matters particularly those related to IOI Oleo Group Sustainability KRAs and KPIs.
To liaise and coordinate sustainability matters with external parties e.g. IOI Corporation, vendors, customers and relevant stakeholders.

Junior Management

Few years’ related working experience would be beneficial but not compulsory. Experience and knowledge on palm industry-related sustainability matters would be good.

B. Sc with Honours preferably in Chemistry/Food Technology/Chemical Engineering.
