Research Fellow (AI Literacy and Future of Work)

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for a Research Fellow position to support a MOE Tier 2 research project examining how Generative AI output design can enhance higher-order AI literacy, critical evaluation capabilities, and workplace performance among knowledge workers. The project sits at the intersection of AI literacy, human-AI interaction, workplace learning, and the future of work, and aims to develop evidence-based design principles for responsible and effective use of Generative AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research studies related to AI literacy and human-AI interaction.
- Develop and test AI-enabled interventions and output design features using Generative AI and chatbot platforms.
- Conduct participant recruitment, data collection, data management, and research ethics compliance activities.
- Analyse survey, interview, behavioural, and system-log data using appropriate statistical and qualitative methods.
- Develop and validate instruments for assessing higher-order AI literacy and critical evaluation skills.
- Contribute to journal publications, conference presentations, grant reports, and other research dissemination activities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers and supervise student assistants involved in the project.
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in research relating to Generative AI, AI literacy, digital learning, workplace learning, or human-AI collaboration.
- Experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, including surveys, experiments, interviews, or mixed-methods research.
- Proficiency in statistical and data analysis tools such as R, Python, SPSS, Stata, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Generative AI applications, prompt engineering, chatbot technologies, or learning analytics is advantageous.
- Strong academic writing and communication skills, with evidence of publication potential.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
