Retail Assistant (Fruits/Veg)

Job description

As a dedicated Retail Assistant, my primary responsibility is to ensure that our fresh produce section is always inviting and well-stocked. This involves the meticulous task of topping up vegetable displays to create an appealing presentation for customers. Beyond simply filling shelves, I am tasked with removing any rotten or damaged vegetables to uphold the highest standards of quality, while sorting through stock to ensure only the best produce is available for purchase.

My role also extends to managing stock in other key departments. When new shipments arrive, I assist with replenishing the frozen food section, ensuring items are correctly rotated and stored. Similarly, I monitor and top up milk and juice supplies, keeping high-demand items accessible and preventing stock outages. To maintain a pleasant shopping environment, I am diligent with general area cleaning and regularly clean shopping baskets to uphold hygiene standards. A critical part of my routine is date coding, where I meticulously check and rotate products to guarantee freshness, reduce waste, and comply with food safety regulations. Through these diverse tasks, I play a vital part in maintaining a high-quality, well-organized store for our customers.
